This week I stopped by a Life.Church on 2001 NW 178th St on the line between Edmond and OKC and boy has it grown. I remember when my family and I first moved to Oklahoma, I did go to a few services at this location as our house was being built in a nearby neighborhood. Since that time (about 7 years ago) the building size has grown significantly with the addition of their Life.Kids section added to the west side of the structure, so I decided to check it out.
The building was beautiful, and the people working there were very friendly. They had greeters at every door. In some cases, they even had kids helping out as greeters (accompanied by adults) at the Life.Kids area of the building.
Google My Business Rankings for The Life.Church in Oklahoma City Location
This Life.Church location has grown a lot in the last several years, and I was curious if ranking in Google Maps was a part of their success, so I checked out their rankings in Maps for a couple of main keyword phrases.

- The Pin numbers shown in the grid below represent the ranking for the business for the keyword phrase used when searching in Google (3-Pack Map rankings).

Below is a GEOgrid that shows off the Life.Church Oklahoma City location rankings in Google Maps. If a person searched Google using the keyword phrase “church” from within the church itself or close by they would find that they rank in the #1 position. The church also ranks well toward the northwest. However, that’s mainly due to there not being many any competing churches in that area.

The Life.Church Oklahoma City Location Page is Propped Up by Branding, Bible App & Portuguese Search Engine
The founder of Life.Church senior pastor Craig Groeschel founded in 1996 with his wife, Amy has grown into such a well-known entity that it’s brand name alone pulls in new members all on its own. No doubt their YouVersion bible app is a big part of their success. Pastor Craig Groeschel’s forward-thinking and willingness to embrace technology has certainly spurred growth beyond measure, creating a reliable brand. Of note, the Life.Church Oklahoma City page also benefits from having 140 backlinks coming to it from https://isearch.avg.com/ which I think is a Portuguese search engine.
At any rate the Life.Church Oklahoma City location may not be ranking all that well in Google Maps, but this is a case where brand identity trumps being found in Google’s 3-Pack (Maps). That level of branding tends to take years to build up but should be the ultimate goal for any business, large or small.
